A DIVERSE ORGANISATION

Home to 10,000 students, researchers and artists every year, over 140 nationalities, 40 houses and a host of services, the Cité Internationale offers a unique setting backed by a remarkable organisation.

The Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris is unique among French universities and institutions. It is run by a private body, the Fondation Nationale, and is listed as a public-interest organisation. It manages on-site services and 18 residences. The other 22 houses each represent a country or Grande Ecole and have their own legal status.

PATRONAGE AT THE CITÉ INTERNATIONALE

The Cité Internationale has always drawn on the generous support of key private donors such as Emile Deutsch de la Meurthe and John Rockefeller Jr.

The Cité Internationale has now reached a turning point and is on the verge of launching a wide-ranging development campaign to renovate and enhance its architectural heritage, pursue intellectual and cultural projects and offer new scholarships. Why not support to this new drive?

PARTNERS

The Cité Internationale was set up to promote ties between young people from a host of different backgrounds. As a result, it also works with a wide range of partners.

PARTNERS UNDER AGREEMENT

Universities, Grandes Ecoles, arts and engineering schools, prep courses for entrance exams, research centres and local authorities have all signed accommodation agreements with the Cité Internationale.

Establishments can therefore offer their students, trainees and researchers accommodation in tailored surroundings, complete with everyday support services. Partners also help the Cité Internationale to carry out its work and promote exchanges, notably through European programmes.

As an example, ParisTech, which comprises 12 of France’s top Grandes Ecoles, lodges its students in four houses at the Cité Internationale: Arts et Métiers House, INA House, House of Agriculture and Food Industries, and, since the start of the 2008 academic year, South-East Asia House.

Two types of agreement
The Cité Internationale offers its academic partners two types of accommodation agreement:
- The student accommodation agreement comprises two parts: an annual “reserved room” agreement (through which the partner reserves a room at the Cité Internationale for their student) and an “established room” agreement (through which the partner has the right to retain a certain number of rooms in a given house for at least ten years). In both cases, potential residents are required to meet Cité Internationale admission criteria.
- The researcher accommodation agreement allows the Reception Office for International Students to help learning and research institutions in the Ile-de-France region welcome and provide accommodation for students from abroad. Those signing the agreement are given an accommodation quota on the campus for their visiting researchers. Residents also benefit from a range of hospitality services put in place by the Reception Office.
